This year major demonstrations are also expected in Budapest. In Vecsés the left-wing and civic majority of the self-government has prevented the erection of a monument to commemorate the treaty forced on Hungary. On June 4 at 4.30 p.m. in the Carpathian basin all the bells of the Reformed Church will toll to remember the Trianon decision about the partition of Hungary. ’The bells will toll for all of us’, Bishop Gusztáv Bölcskei said to Magyar Nemzet. The press department of the Conference of Hungarian Bishops announced that it was up to the discretion of Catholic bishops if bells tolled in their diocese. In Vecsés the left-wing majority of the self-government said the symbol of the town was the cabbage and they would not permit the erection of a Székely gate in which the new borders of partitioned Hungary were carved.
