The Hungarian Medical Chamber has sent a circular letter to doctors and on the basis of answers they will summarize the debt of the state which may run to HUF 25-30 billion without contributions and interests. In Hungary the present law recognizes only a part of the duty as working time, the remaining time is regarded as standby time. Two doctors have already filed a suit in the case and they have won the suit though the verdict is appealable. The government does not show any intention to remedy the problem though doctors and health workers would be content with a compensation without interests.
