Péter Szijjártó MP (Fidesz), chairman of the parliamentary committee examining the circumstances of accumulating property by the Premier and his sphere of interest said twelve ministers answered the questions of the committee and it turned out that there were companies attached to the Premier which were given state subsidies, commissions or orders though Premier Gyurcsány had promised to transfer the direction of his companies and to give up his business activities during his term. Premier Gyurcsány claims there are 49 firms attached to him directly or indirectly but he could not tell exactly what commissions, orders or state subsidies were granted to his companies though he did not exclude their possibility.
The chairman of the committee wants to know if Premier Gyurcsány meets the directors of his companies regularly or not, whether he gives them pieces of advice or not and whether he finds it ethical to let his companies receive state subsidies, orders or commissions. István Balsai MP (Fidesz) said yesterday the Prime Minister acted illegally when he transferred the ownership rights to one of his employees instead of concluding a property management contract. Boglár László government spokesperson said the opposition MPs in this case seem to have problems not with the Premier but the company registry which found only formal mistakes in the transfer. She said the ministries announced the tenders and the commissions were paid according to the work accomplished.
