According to informations from the National Forum Association more than half of the representatives in self-governments are expected to quit the Hungarian Democratic Forum (MDF) to work on in the colours of the National Forum, Fidesz, or Christian Democrats. The cause of this is that in 2006 no cooperation is expected between MDF and Fidesz even on the level of self-governments, either.
The National Forum has concluded an agreement with Fidesz concerning the general election of 2006. Yesterday the MDF faction of Szolnok County announced its termination because the leaders of MDF seem to draw near the left-wing parties. There have been similar steps and motivations in Sárospatak and in the II. district of Budapest where members of MDF left the party.
