Yesterday András Kupper, Fidesz faction leader of the assembly of Budapest in a briefing revealed new developments in a case suspected of corruption, attached to Mayor Demszky and pro-Free Democrat communication companies. The faction leader said he would initiate a special session of the metropolitan assembly to investigate the abuses and suspicious affairs. He mentioned the case of road renovations where the PR-commissions had been given to firms attached to either Free Democrats or directly to Mayor Demszky while opposition members were regularly excluded from the committees preparing or bringing decisions. Mr Kupper quoted the opinion of former Prime Minister Péter Medgyessy who claimed ’the Alliance of Free Democrats is packed with affairs of corruption’.
