PUBLIC INSTITUTIONS IN DISTRESS

More and more institutions of health, education, and culture report to their proper ministries that they are unable to accomplish the compulsory accumulation of reserves prescribed by the government decision in August as this measure endangers the operation of these institutions.

They also warn of the possibility that because of these restrictions they will not be able to pay the salaries of their employees. Health institutions will have to save HUF 17 billion, this restriction affects the National Health Insurance Fund, the State Public Health Office, the National Blood Supply Service, and the National Ambulance Service, too. The universities try to negotiate with public utility companies about their bills while the public television announced yesterday the restrictions meant for them a loss of HUF 2 billion. András Tállai MP (Fidesz) claims by these measures the government in fact has suspended the execution of the budget.
