György Gémesi will not leave the Hungarian Democratic Forum for the time being though the party constitution does not permit a dual membership. Some weeks ago Mr Gémesi said it would not be wise if two right-wing candidates were rivals for the mayor's seat in Gödöllő. Earlier György Gémesi's relations with party chairperson Ibolya Dávid had worsened because of their different political strategies and Mr Gémesi resigned from his post of a deputy chairman. In an article the weekly Heti Válasz claimed at the end of September that Mr Gémesi and Imre Sisák, mayor of Pásztó were considering to leave the Hungarian Democratic Forum to gain Fidesz support in 2006. Imre Sisák refuted this but he has allegedly started consultations with KDNP, too.
