The price of bread has been raised recently mainly in the country because of the increased price of mineral gas for big consumers. The companies of baking industry have been closed down one after the other and several companies consider a demonstration as a last resort. One of such desperate protests can be that bakeries deliver bread only in the afternoon. The mineral gas price has been raised by 19 pc from November 1 and bakeries have raised the price of bread by 10-15 pc, mainly in the southern region of Alföld but in Budapest and its region shops have refused the offer so far. The talks with multinational chain stores are going on but without a government intervention the problems cannot be solved.
