IMAGE OF HUNGARY REACHES ROCK BOTTOM

Even Slovakia is concerned over the drastic Hungarian budget deficit.

The image of Hungary has deteriorated in the European Union. Ivan Miklos, Minister of Finance in Slovakia said the increasing Hungarian deficit might affect negatively even the Slovakian economy. According to the chairman of the economic and financial committee of the European Union the Hungarian budget is in a deplorable condition. The Financial Times claims EU sources for Hungary may be suspended. The Slovakian Minister of Finance who was voted ’Finance Minister of the year’ by Euromoney last year said the national currencies of the Visegrád countries were moving together and all financial trends in the region affected the smallest country, Slovakia, too.
