NO LOYALTY BONUS FOR NURSES

The Gyurcsány cabinet wants to get rid of the election promises of the Hungarian Socialist Party made in 2002.

There will be no loyalty bonus for nurses in 2006, either, so it is certain that the election promises of the Socialists will not be kept in this government cycle. The Hungarian Socialist Party explains this by the fact that the promise was made by Premier Medgyessy but now the Prime Minister is Ferenc Gyurcsány. Péter Szijjártó MP (Fidesz) has submitted an amendment to the budget of 2006 to ensure sources for the loyalty bonus for nurses but the Ministry of Finance refused the proposal referring to the high budget deficit. Árpád Gógl MP (Fidesz), former Minister of Health said it was a false argument that the composition of the government changed in the meantime as the legal succession was not questioned.
