Transylvanian media experts claim the Hungarian Democratic Union in Romania (RMDSZ) discredited the goal of founding a Hungarian television in Transylvania because it had requested the redirection of the funds from the mother country. RMDSZ promised the television in Hungarian language in the election campaign of last year but it could not provide more money to the sum of HUF 300 million earmarked for this in the Hungarian budget.
It was only one man – Csaba Takács, managing director of RMDSZ – who decided like this, without any consultations with the other members of the founding body. It was Premier Medgyessy who promised the subsidy to Béla Markó and the sum was remitted to Janovics Jenő Foundation by the Ministry of Informatics and Communication.
