It was a fortnight ago that Minister of Economy János Kóka in a speech in the parliament accused Viktor Orbán of scaring away foreign investors but the minister could not produce any evidence for this up to this very day. Judit Tóth, spokesperson of the ministry gave an evasive answer yesterday, she said to Magyar Nemzet their standpoint would be public in the near future.
The statement of the minister caused a great indignation among MPs and János Kóka said his words referred to the sale of Budapest Airport but the embassies of Australia and Denmark categorically denied their competing firms were ’scared away’ when they withdrew their bids in the second round of the tender. Viktor Orbán refuted Kóka’s charges last week whiler Máriusz Révész, spokesman of Fidesz said they would decide before long if there would be legal consequences of Kóka’s ’irresponsible accusations’.
