AFTERMATH OF A TALK

Ervin Demeter targeted by the Socialists.

In a commercial television channel Ervin Demeter MP (Fidesz), chairman of the parliamentary committee investigating the K&H broker affair spoke about the saving of the property of former Serb president Milosevity, about the KGB methods experienced in the broker scandal, and about his private talk with a CIA resident. Mr Demeter, previously state secretary responsible for national security, carries on his work as an ordinary MP, too. He wants to examine the responsibility of his successor, András Tóth (Socialist Party) who probably asked Attila Kulcsár for informations of political nature. Mr Demeter has refuted informations about the existence of a secret group within Fidesz called ’Red Octopus’. Ervin Demeter has been sharply criticized by András Tóth and by Socialist politicians for turning to the intelligence service of ’a friendly power’.
