ONLY ACTIVE INGREDIENTS TO BE PRESCRIBED?

The Ministry of Health plans to change the order of prescription for doctors who could prescribe only the active ingredients of the medicines but it would be decided by the chemists what sort of medicines are used in fact.

The plan wants to reregulate the medicine market. According to the plan instead of Aspirin to be prescribed there would be Acidum Acetilsallicilicum written by the doctor and the chemist could choose among 12 medicines containing this agent. The patient should always receive the cheapest product – by this method the expenses of the social insurance would be reduced, too. Family doctors have critized the plan.
