The spokesperson of the Metropolitan Public Prosecutor’s Office said all the documents of the six companies were in the possession of the investigating office but at the moment there was no definable measure of the damage caused so the charge was only ’violation of accountancy regulations’.
The last company to hand in the necessary documents was Petroltank Company, once belonging to Ottó Hujber, former chairman of the entrepreneurial section of the Hungarian Socialist Party. In December, 2002 Premier Medgyessy in Moscow had to remit 62 million dollars of the Russian state debt because the Russians regarded the sum already paid, and the vanished sum turned up in different companies closely connected with the Socialists.
