Premier Medgyessy could not meet Colin Powell and Javier Solana in Budapest because he is on holiday. Yesterday the cabinet session decided about the concept of privatizing MALÉV Company. There will be an open tender for the state owned shares but the future buyer has to make a lift of capital and the new owner will have to preserve the national character of the company. According to the government spokesman the deal can be perfectuated this year. Zoltán Gál J. refused the initiative of Fidesz to halt all privatizations saying that the proposal of the opposition party means an additional burden for taxpayers, frightens away investors, and endangers job opportunities.
