Though there has been a plan to raise parking tariffs in a most drastic way, the Mayor’s Office in Budapest is at a loss because government and coalition representatives of the assembly alike oppose the planned 70 pc raise. Fidesz and Free Democrat representatives urge the general survey of the parking order in Budapest before introducing new and higher tariffs. According to the plans the upper limit of the parking fee for an hour would be HUF 800 – –his would be introduced in the Castle district. The plan also contains the cancelling of free parking for local residents.
