The Ministry of Finance wants to reduce the budget of the ministries by HUF 200 billion for the next year, said Tibor Draskovics, Minister of Finance after the cabinet session yesterday.He also said they planned a five pc cut in different institutions. The minister said the reduction could be made up by EU subsidies. ’We need a cheaper and smaller state’, he added. Civil servants will get a 5 pc raise of salary instead of the promised 6,5 next year. Péter Szijjártó MP (Fidesz) criticized the government saying they wanted to force self-governments to dismiss several people by cutting their budget while preliminary budget numbers show there were no investments at all planned for the next year.
