Péter Bárándy maintained until yesterday his standpoint that he had not met Attila Kulcsár and Tibor E. Rejtő, suspects of the several billion fraud at K&H Equities Company. Yesterday, however, the Minister of Justice told Magyar Nemzet he had never claimed he did not met the ex-broker he only said they had not any genuine talk. First it was a magazine called Figyelő which mentioned the meeting referring to Kulcsár’s diary but the minister refuted the information. Mr Bárándy probably met Attila Kulcsár in the company of László Kodela, former undersecretary of the Prime Minister’s Office and Tibor E. Rejtő, then general director of K&H Bank in the government resort house at Balatonöszöd. Ervin Demeter, chairman of the already cancelled ’broker committee’ in parliament had a similar information but Mr Bárándy then denied the fact of the meeting. It is not known yet when the minister told untruth. They say the topic of the conversation in the resort house was the privatization of prisons. Attila Kulcsár is said to have mentioned Mr Bárándy at his interrogation by the prosecutor’s office. Earlier a similar case was revealed by Magyar Nemzet when András Tóth, state secretary of National Security met Mr Rejtő in secret in a hospital. András Tóth also met Attila Kulcsár at the time when the ex-broker was already under surveillance.
