The old regulation makes it necessary to appoint a liquidator in such instances but it has turned out that the majority of the hospitals in Budapest have similar problems. According to László Zsinka, representative of the metropolitan assembly (Hungarian Justice and Life Party) the problem is caused not by the hospitals but by the failures of central financing.
This February a restrictive regulation of the operation of hospitals aggravated the financial problems while Iván Golub, chairman of the Association of Hungarian Hospitals said the savings accumulated by the restrictions should be distributed very soon to alleviate the problems.
