FERENC WEKLER LUCKY AGAIN

Ferenc Wekler MP (Free Democrats), Deputy Speaker of Parliament can sell his wine in a higher price category as Szekszárd brand though local winegrowers oppose the decree of the Ministry of Agriculture.

The decree has annexed the village of Mórágy to the Szekszárd wine region. Mr Wekler had bought land there after the change of government and started to plant grapes with a HUF several hundred million state subsidy. The decree of the Ministry of Agriculture was published illegally, without the consent of the winegrowers’ council. Mórágy so far has been part of the Tolna county wine region, the wines produced there are inferior in quality to those of Szekszárd. Szekszárd wines can be sold for higher price.
