PLAN OF EUROPE IN TOTAL OBSCURITY

Though so far no subsidies have been paid based on the Plan of Europe advertised and praised to the skies during the campaign, there is a new circular calling on the ministers to communicate the programme more effectively. The adverising campaign of the Plan of Europe has been followed by suspended or quickly closed tenders. The campaign cost the state about half a billion forints but the EU tenders had no winner so far subsidized by the ministries. The Ministry of Economy has been unable for days even to give information about the present state of tenders and no one knows how many applications have been submitted so far in the Plan of Europe. The website of the plan says only that until March 80 000 tenders had been downloaded and there were 12 successful bids until mid-May. This week it has turned out that the plan has financial problems. The tenders of the so-called Vásárhelyi plan must be also cancelled and repeated as the committee to judge tenders for flood prevention at Tisza river has declared all bids erroneous.
