Mr Ferenczi is Salgó’s deputy in the criminal department. The nomination of Péter Gergényi, police chief of Budapest has been withdrawn by Mónika Lamperth, Minister of the Interior. According to the informations of Magyar Nemzet Ferenczi’s appointment is supported by most of the police generals as they think he would be the best because of his experience, his practice as a leader for 15 years and because he has a legal qualification. Maj-Gen. Ferenczi (53) would make an excellent police chief according to police sources but István Ignácz has also a chance for the post. The brigadier-general has been police chief of Pest county and in the past years in every homicide case the perpetrator has been found.
