PURGES AT PSZÁF

It is expected that by the end of August or in early September the rules and regulations of the State Supervision of Financial Institutions (PSZÁF) will be ready and probably there will be a massive lay-off there, Magyar Nemzet has been informed.

István Binder, spokesman of PSZÁF denies the probability of dismissals but informations seem to confirm that Erika Marsi, director general of PSZÁF plans a great purge to get rid of employees thought politically unreliable. The official explanation will be that the lay-off was necessary for a wage-lift of the remaining employees. This summer, however, big premiums have been paid at PSZÁF, each employee has received a monthy’s salary plus in spite of government restrictions.
