In spite of earlier promises no one knows up to this time what sort of companies and for how much money took part in the organization of the central feast on the national holiday of August 20. The Prime Minister’s Office and the Hungexpo-Mafilm companies winning the tender point to each other so the only fact one knows is that this year HUF 175 million has been given instead of the HUF 256 million for last year so the self-governments in the country had no state support at all for the festivities.
The press department of the Prime Minister’s Office said the checking of the bills was still going on and the bills would be public within sixty days. The chief contractor, Mafilm Company has had no activities in the field of pyrotechnics since 1997.
