Though there is an abundand offer of Hungarian greenhouse strawberry, the chain of big stores and markets sell Spanish strawberry on dumping price but the quality of the imported fruit is much inferior. Last year about 1500 tons of imported strawberry came to Hungary while there were only 200 tons of Hungarian strawberry exported. This balance is not bad because in Hungary last year about 7,5-8 thousand tons were produced and the rest was bought in Hungary. The consumers realize the better quality and safety of the Hungarian fruit and tend to pay more for it.
