The ministry explains the move by austerity measures. The site in Buda is one of the most expensive places, the building complex had been the property of the Jesuits. Károly Kontrát MP (Fidesz) said József Béndek, commander of the frontier guard had orders to prepare for leaving the building as soon as possible. The frontier guard will have to evacuate its buildings in Nagykanizsa, in Zalaegerszeg, and in Balassagyarmat, too. The press department of the ministry said they were continuously examining the best solutions for enhancing a more effective operation and the methods of cost-saving property management but they did not refute the information. The building complex was built by the Jesuits in 1928 and it was confiscated by the state in 1950. The frontier guard received the real estate in 1953.
