Though there are absurdly high score limits for state subsidized university admissions, the paying courses are open for students with 30-40 points less than necessary. Though in principle there is an equality of opportunities for every student the facts reveal the opposite. Students of well-off parents can read almost every most favoured subject with a medium level performance, too.
The universities in the country are cheaper while the most expensive university is Semmelweis Medical University where a would-be general practitioner has to pay a fee of HUF 1,225 million for a term which totals for 12 terms as more than HUF 14,5 million. In Budapest, consequently, there are mainly foreign students while Hungarian students favour country universities.
