According to the draft of a government edict university admissions will honour next year language certificates by fifteen points instead of ten while in the special academic training the admission limit will be fifteen points.
Minister of Education Bálint Magyar earlier promised a different method and the website of the ministry shows a different variety. The government edict has not been modified concerning this issue though there was a ruling of the Constitutional Court to do so. The ruling has stated that the edict violated the equality of opportunities making difference between students who had their school-leaving examinations in different years.
The minister in mid-August said that instead of the present twenty points an upper limit of ten points would be accepted for language certificates to make foreign language skills less decisive in admissions to popular courses. The draft, however, eliminates the unjust qualification of former and new school-leaving examinations.
