GERMANS DISLIKE HANKOOK TYRES

Minister of Economy János Kóka has announced earlier that Hankook would bring high technology in its new factory in Dunaújváros.

The latest winter tyre test of the German Automobile Club says Hankook tyres are not recommended for German motorists. The Korean tyre factory will be built for HUF 132 billion employing 1500 people so the Hungarian state subsidizes each workplace by HUF 8.5 million. The Minister of Economy said early this month in a meeting in Dunaújváros that the factory represented the highest standards in technology and environment protection and the tyres would be soon seen on Mercedes and BMW cars, too. The present practice shows that Korean tyres are used only on cars manufactured by Korea. The result of the tests can be seen on the website www.adac.de.
