Tomorrow there will be a demonstration organized by the parents of students in church schools, opposed by Bálint Magyar, Minister of Education who claims the schools put pressure on parents and students. Last year in December there was a similar demonstration in front of the ministry building with 14 000 demonstrators.
The organizer of the present demonstration, Gábor F. Hardy expects about 20 000 people at the cross marking the site of Regnum Marianum, a church destroyed by the Communists. Gábor F. Hardy said to Magyar Nemzet the demonstration did not serve any political aims, the purpose was simply to fight for the survival of church schools. It is interesting that Bálint Magyar, Minister of Education had nothing to say against Socialist and Free Democrat politicians visiting schools and ’giving lessons’.
