FABULOUS SALARIES IN MÁV COMPANY

According to our informations last autumn there was a nearly 50 pc wage correction from the level of senior executives upwards while the salaries of the 94 top executives of Hungarian State Railway Company (MÁV) had required annually more than HUF 2 billion even until then. Though the leadership of the company has been given a mandate to start a ’historic’ reform it is well-known that nothing has been made public in a written form about this reform. In the Ministry of Economic and Transport Affairs they explained the huge salaries by this historic task in last March though the deficit of the state company is HUF 34 billion. The three deputy general directors, the five branch directors, the project manager, and the service manager had a monthly minimal basic salary of HUF 1,2 million at that time with a bonus of 100 pc plus a company car, unlimited use of mobile phone, and a life insurance package worth HUF 5 million annually, the latter alone came to HUF 100 million annually. ,In spite of this last autumn they made a nearly 50 pc raise of salaries for senior executives.
