DISPUTED PREMIUM FOR SOCIALIST PRESIDENT

István Agócs, president of the Assembly of Komárom-Esztergom County (Hungarian Socialist Party) has been voted a more than HUF 6 million premium by the self-government for his activities this year, Magyar Nemzet has been informed.

The high premium has been regarded as scandalous even by local Socialists, the local branch of the party in Tata will discuss the case on Thursday. The county is operated in serious financial conditions and had to pay back HUF 230 million to the treasury because they misused the normative support. István Agócs had been secretary of the Communist Youth Party in Tatabánya who said the premium was a method to compensate for a stable salary. The former president of the assembly had been delegated by Fidesz and was given HUF 3,3 million for a whole year’s work and he had no two deputies as István Agócs has now.
