Prime Minister Péter Medgyessy’s monthly salary has a spectacular increase against the 2002 one. The Premier’s basic salary is a monthly HUF 1,2 million, without allowances and defrayals. This is about 40 pc more than the salary of the previous Prime Minister. According to the latest report of the office of the Parliament the monthly fee of the MPs has increased by HUF 32 000, so the basic fee is HUF 198 000 but there are other sources of plus income like membership of committees, allowances and defrayals. Gábor Kuncze, faction leader of the Alliance of Free Democrats earns a monthly HUF 891 000, 150 000 more than a year ago while Katalin Szili, Speaker has a monthly HUF 990 000, this has increased from last year’s HUF 693 000 to the present sum.
