RACIST OUTBURST AT SÁRBOGÁRD: ROMANY STATE SECRETARY EXAMINES CASE

László Teleki, state secretary responsible for Romany affairs in the Prime Minister’s Office is going to start an examination in connection with the racist outburst of a Socialist representative in the assembly of Sárbogárd who said ’those who are given birth support on social grounds should not multiply’.

The single allowance of HUF 20 000 had been proposed by the Fidesz faction of the assembly. The Romany state secretary said if the reports were true the case would be discussed by the national presidium of the Hungarian Socialist Party while Péter Gusztos, member of the national committee of the Association of Free Democrats said this outburst was clearly racist. The representatives who did such statements later said they were referring to parasitic layers of society who always use the back doors’.
