RADIO AND TELEVISION AUTHORITY EXAMINES PUBLIC RADIO BUT DOES NOT EXAMINE TILOS RÁDIÓ

The monitoring office of the National Radio and Television Authority (ORTT) examines the news and political programmes of Kossuth Rádió but it refused yesterday the cancellation of the contract with Tilos Rádió. Last week’s Kossuth programmes will be examined thoroughly by the body, suggested by the Socialist delegate, György Ladvánszky, and by the delegate of the Free Democrats, János Timár. Annamária Szalai, the delegate of Fidesz has been voted down with her motion to cancel the contract with Tilos Rádió though this station has committed a long series of violations of the law and was sanctioned 11 times within a year by ORTT, and the committee of complaints found it five times violating the media law. Annamária Szalai claims Tilos Rádió has a basic conception to defame national traditions, Christianity, and civic values using a hate speech of a very rude tone.
