DEMSZKY’S ABSENCE MAY BE A SOURCE OF TENSION

There can be a new tension in the coalition of the Socialist and Free Democrat faction of the metropolitan assembly if Gábor Demszky, Mayor of Budapest starts his work in the European Parliament.

The first Deputy of the Mayor is János Atkári (Alliance of Free Democrats) whose relationship is not unclouded with Socialist deputies and with the Socialist faction. Mayor Demszky will not be at home practically until the end of this summer. At present he is on an official visit in Iceland (last week he did not take his EP mandate, either at the ceremony), within a couple of days he will fly to Fort Worth (USA) while in August he attends the Olympic Games as a personal guest of the Mayor of Athens.
