NATIONAL WEALTH QUICKLY VANISHING

The remnants of national property are sold out in double-quick time. State-owned companies are sold out in double-quick time: yesterday the State Privatization and Property Management Company (ÁPV Rt) announced there was a decision to sell the full package of shares of Hungexpo, National Schoolbook Publishing Company, and Hollóháza Porcelain Company.

It has sold Mahart Duna-Cargo Ltd to DDSG-Cargo GmbH and has decided about selling MALÉV Airlines following a government plan ensuring a consolidation of MALÉV by HUF 6 billion. The agricultural companies are also sold out quickly: 6 companies have been sold out of the ten. The privatization seems to serve the interests of the governing parties: in Bóly, for instance, the Hungarian Socialist Party clintele is clearly present. This year ÁPV wishes to receive about HUF 143 billion for privatized state companies.
