This was the last lecture of a week-long seminar on the enlargement of the European Union and its consequences. There were present among the audience Emil Constantinescu, former President of Romania and Bishop László Tőkés, head of the Transylvanian National Council, too.
Viktor Orbán said the present state of the democracy in Romania did not guarantee a quick accession to the EU. ’Where there are no honest elections, there is no democracy’, he said. According to the chairmn of Fidesz the autonomy is the real prrof of democracy which cannot be attained by pacts and compromises but by a massive support and determined representation.
