NO LOYALTY BONUS EVEN NEXT YEAR

No loyalty bonus will be paid even next year for nurses, Magyar Nemzet has been informed. The 2005 budget plan does not contain any reference to keep the promise made to several tens of thousand of employees in the public health field.

The programme of the Medgyessy government in 2002 promised nurses who had been working for four years at least to give them a loyalty bonus equivalent to their gross annual salary. Gyurcsány’s new programme does not make any reference to this promise. Mihály Kökény, Minister of Health said to Magyar Nemzet the new government programme did not contain concrete facts only generalities and only quite sure items were mentioned. This unkept promise affects about 70 000 employees.
