SMALL CHILDREN IN MORTAL DANGER

Children suffering from a disease of the adrenal cortex would need a cheap medicine which cannot be bought in Hungarian pharmacies. Small children are supposed to take this medicine regularly otherwise the balance of the whole organism overturns. In the city of Pécs there is a patient who could survive only for a couple of hours without this medicine.

’This is a life- saving medicine’, said dr. Gyula Soltész, head of the children’s clinic in Pécs. The Ministry of Health claims there is an appropriate substitute for the medicine but according to the professor it cannot be used because it blocks the growth of children. The Ministry of Health cancelled the medicine from the register because it did not conform to EU regulations. The Ministry had more than half a year to provide of a similar medicine but it failed to do so.
