According to an announcement of the Hungarian News Agency (MTI) the cabinet of national security will discuss the situation though official statements tend to regard the terror risk minimal in Hungary. Ferenc Juhász, Minister of Defence has said recently he will give up his post if he is elected deputy chairman of the Socialist Partry. At the end of this week Ferenc Juhász had a talk with Donald Rumsfeld, US Minister of Defence about the prolongation of the Hungarian mission in Iraq. In other countries also affected by the threat there have been strict security measures introduced. The Hungarian contingent in Iraq carries on its tasks of transportation but the Polish army chief has ordered an increased degree of reconnaisance. The Hungarian military bases will be guarded by civilian security forces from mid-October which can be a risk, too. More than 300 persons have been dismissed from the military intelligence which can be also dangerous because international terrorists can infiltrate the network in an easier way.
