OFFER OF HUF 100 MILLION ON A SLIP OF PAPER

The documents in the possession of Magyar Nemzet show that the Komárom State Farm was bought from State Privatization Company by Kemenesalja Agráripari Ltd deep below price just before Christmas with an offer scribbled on a piece of paper.

The hastily founded firm has shareholders like György Raskó, former member of the board of trustees of the State Privatization Agency delegated by the Hungarian Democratic Forum. The scribbled slip of paper was full of ortographical mistakes but István Koleszár, managing director of State Privatization Company said a handwritten offer was also legally acceptable and the question was demagogic.

He said the mistakes were the results of ’the embarrasment of the boy’. He said the procedure of privatization took place in the presence of a public notary so a full picture could be gained only by studying the records.
