Fidesz wants an inquiry into the case of the plot which has been bought by the state-owned Budapest Airport Company early in February for HUF 4,7 billion from a company belonging to the Carion group to build a logistic centre there. Péter Szijjártó MP (Fidesz) announced in a special briefing on Saturday that there was an independent investigation necessary to reveal the background of the transaction. The MP has reminded of the fact that the Prime Minister’s independence is highly problematic as his mother-in-law, Piroska Apró was president of the board of trustees of Budapest Airport Company between June 2002 and May 2003. The documents in the possession of Magyar Nemzet give a general view of the complicated issue. The process of buying the plot of twenty hectares was started at the time when the head of the board of trustees was Tamás Bálint, former cabinet chief of László Keller. The Carion group takes part in a tender for Hungexpo Company and the present sum to be received from Budapest Airport may be necessary as a deposit for the tender.
