The official of the Saudi Foreign Ministry has also confirmed that his country summoned home its ambassador in Budapest following the incident that Premier Gyurcsány had called the Saudi national eleven ’terrorists’. Magyar Nemzet reported the fact on Saturday but the Hungarian Foreign Ministry tried to refute it immediately. The Saudi official, quoted also by the Hungarian Press Agency (MTI) said ’the ambassador is at home, he has been summoned for a consultation’. The announcement refutes the statement of government spokesperson Boglár László who denied the measure of Riyad. Zsolt Németh, chairman of the Foreign Committee of the parliament said this was again an example for the government telling untruth and there was a conscious effort to mislead the public. Katalin Szili, Speaker has postponed her state visit to Saudi Arabia claiming her vote would be necessary on Monday in the session of parliament. The last state visitor in Saudi Arabia was Prime Minister Viktor Orbán in February 2001. The chambers of commerce of the two countries concluded then an agreement about the development of political, cultural, and economic relations. The trade balance of the two countries is about one hundred million dollars.
