NO MONEY TO PROTECT COURTS OF JUSTICE

Yesterday Zoltán Lomnici, chairman of the Supreme Court said in Sárvár it would be necessary to protect the courts ruling in important criminal cases but at the moment police protection can be hired for market prices.

The police official refuted this but confirmed that cost-prices must be paid. Police forces regularly appear at trials of important cases but safeguarding the security of the buildings is not a police task. The debate arose from an incident in January when Zoltán Varga, a metropolitan judge was threatened and Mr Lomnici said more and more judges were threatened. They could not even agree with the police to post their men in the court buildings in Markó street.
