Last year the Metropolitan Mayor’s Office spent more than HUF 770 million, mostly without any public acquisition tender, commissioning external companies. According to documents in the possession of Magyar Nemzet the City Hall commissioned several companies, including Perfekt Company or Ökocentrum Company, of which Mayor Demszky had been one of the leaders until 1993. The Mayor’s Office paid about HUF 1,7 billion to external companies between 2002 and 2005, mainly for different studies, surveys, or PR work. In the Mayor’s Office there are more than 1100 people employed, and several advisors help the work of the city management.
