According to the first version the government would initiate in Brussels to reduce taxes for transporters. This seems difficult because of the principle of the equality of opportunities, and László Kovács, tax and customs commissioner expressed his doubts, too. The second option would be for the transporters to reclaim duties as agricultural producers can do it but in this case similar options should be given to transporters in all EU countries. The third possibility would be a general reduction of excise duties to the level expected by the European Union. Fidesz criticizes the government which stopped the automatic mechanism of excise reduction in case of a too high price rise.
