It is curious that originally they wanted to spend HUF 800 million for the reconstruction but at last they concluded a contract about HUF 2 billion with Strabag Company, Magyar Nemzet has been informed. The decision-making bodies of Budapest Airport Company opposed the deal for its high price and for its unusual timing but their main argument against it was the fact that it became connected with a reconstruction by which the whole programme could be qualified as confidential. With this transaction two totally different investments became a common development programme excluding any competition – the building of a taxiway and that of a security network.
