Last June the medicine manufacturers signed a contract with the government stating that in the case the HUF 285 billion state subsidy of medicines will not be enough, the plus expenses will be shared by the expenditure and the manufacturers equally. If the deficit would be higher than 10 pc, all losses should be covered by the manufacturers. Now there seem to be problems about the interpretation of the contract as manufacturers claim this year the state subsidy is irreally low in proportion to the expected deficit, causing the bankruptcy of several manufacturers.
